Modular or Crate motors require a wide engine bay, wider than many of the early Fords had so you will need custom made engine mounts, shock tower notching, headers, exchange wiring harness, coil over struts, fuel tank pumps, speed sensors. Converting your classic Ford to a modular V8 takes a lot of room. On average, 25cm more engine bay than you have now. Replace your factory front suspension with RRS coil-overs and notch the towers, without any detrimental chassis effects. Beam and torsion tests show notching the shock towers maintains the chassis strength.
